Guantanamo.- The Antonio Lloga in Memoriam National Workshop and Contest for Young Radio, to be held from September 24 to 27 in Santiago de Cuba, will serve as a platform to recognize and exchange ideas on radio production created by the new generation of Cuban talent.

Rey Luis Correa, president of the Organizing Committee, told the Cuban News Agency that, as part of the event, the Online Workshop on Radio Experimentation has already begun. This educational space, lasting two months, features 20 young participants selected by a jury from across the country.

These young creators will complete the academic workshop by presenting a collaborative audio communication project, developed within their local contexts and showcased during the final in-person sessions in Santiago de Cuba.

Courses are being taught by Félix León Guzmán and Janet Feliciano García, both recognized sound producers, scriptwriters, program directors, and instructors at the Cuban Radio and Television Training Center.

This year’s edition, dedicated to sound art and the 510th anniversary of the founding of Santiago de Cuba, will once again provide an opportunity to honor Antonio Lloga, a respected figure in Santiago’s and Cuba’s broader radio community, Correa added. He also serves as the provincial vice president of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS).

The oldest youth radio event in the country is organized by AHS, together with the Cultural Directorate and Radio Directorate of Santiago de Cuba, and the General Directorate of Cuban Radio.
