Guantánamo.- Cuban Minister of Energy and Mines, Vicente de la O Levy announced that Cuba’s National Power System (SEN) was working on Thursday with all available equipment.

The Minister clarified that “Unit 1 of the CTE Felton, in eastern Holguin province, which already has its boiler on and will be synchronized in the next few hours,” has not yet entered the electricity production.

The Energy and Mines Ministry announced that the System was disconnected again early Wednesday due to a tripping of the automatic switch at the Antonio Guiteras Thermoelectric Power Plant in Matanzas (center).

Restoration work continued during the day. Before nightfall, the Santa Cruz 1, Guiteras, and Felton units were ready to start operation, with 400 megawatts more than until then.

Cuban authorities denounce the consequences in the sector of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States on the Caribbean country for more than six decades, which has been intensifying in the last few years.
