Guantanamo.- During the opening day of the Chocolate Con Café Festival in its eighth edition, the emblematic musical-dance group Nengón Imías, which is honored in this event on its 70th anniversary of its founding, performed at the Zona de Arte Cultural Center in the Guantánamo City, one of the venues of the III BioCuba 2024 International Fair.

The native sounds of this group, whose compositions exalt traditional peasant music, and the dance demonstrations of the Nengón identity, by the dancers who make up this group, distinguished the fairgrounds of this event, where coffee, cocoa and honey products are exhibited, lines from the delivery range of the Companies: Alto Serra, ApiCuba, and the Baracoa Chocolate Factory.

On the other hand, the Modi-Bar Zoilita’s also hosted on this opening day of the Chocolate Con Café Festival, the II Forum of Sociocultural, Creative and Innovative Projects for Development, as a space for exchange and socialization of experiences between specialists, researchers and members of the Projects: Monarcas, Fénix, El Rachón de Cobango, Con Infinito Amor and Artesaneando con Yeny; a meeting that was enlivened by the violinist Sarbelio Matos and the soloist Aigetsa Gaile Charlot.

Likewise, in the context of this edition of the event, the ARTEX La Guantanamera Cultural Center invited everyone to enjoy the special space SaxMan, with its host the instrumentalist Víctor Tamaño, and with the participation of the scriptwriter of the Cuban soap opera Renacer, Yoel Monzón, and the actor Faustino Pérez Acosta, both invited to the Chocolate Con Café Festival in its eighth edition.

The opening gala of this event took place, Friday, November 29, at the Pedro Agustín Pérez Multifunctional Plaza, at 9 p.m., featured by guest artists and local artists. Then, at the Benito Odio House of Trova in the Guantánamo City, singer-songwriters Vidal García, Josué Oliva, the Changüisero group Sincopa 1, as well as the Santa Clara musician Yatsel Rodríguez and his group Café Pilongo perform.
