Guantanamo – A group of young Guantanamo cultural promoters climbed Pico Galán, a managed flower reserve located 974 meters above sea level, near the Bernardo de Yateras settlement, to celebrate the 98th birthday of the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.
The deputy to the Cuban Parliament, Dolores Legrá San Miguel, led the climb to the highest peak of the Yateras Municipality, where the participants raised the national flag and cheered the legacy of the Commander in Chief.
“Participating in the abrupt journey with the intrepid and defiant Yateras boys and girls, was a challenge, because I am no longer as young as they are, but it will always be the best way to exalt the life and work of Fidel,” Legrá San Miguel said.
She also said that today she feels closer to the Fidel’s ideals, after developing cultural activities to celebrate the important anniversary and climbing the aforementioned summit, where the protection of the variety of fauna and forests is managed a task that she always prioritized.
She specified that in Yateras that they continue carrying out activities in honor of Fidel’s 98th birth anniversary, such as sports, recreational, historical activities and events in the work centers.
