Guantanamo.-The inhabitants of Yateras municipality are working on the preparations for the forthcoming coffee production scheduled to take place from the end of 2024 to 2025, a stage in which it is planned to implement the measures of the Program for the Development of the crop contemplated in the country’s work agenda until 2030.
Some of the actions being developed prior to the beginning of the harvest, which is expected to achieve higher quality and yield of red cherry, are the deployment of the internal force, including regular pickers, the maintenance of the pulping machines scattered in the six People’s Councils of the territory.
In the same way, work is being done to guarantee the much-needed mule program in these hillsides with inaccessible sites, as well as the quality of the Robusta and Arabica varieties, other priorities that will guarantee the fulfillment of the estimate foreseen for the stage.
The usual collectors of the different forms of production in Yateras municipality, together with usufructuaries and the population, are called upon to collect all the coffee of the coming period, an essential aspect for the fulfillment of the plan and to achieve the purpose of becoming one of the largest coffee emporiums in the province and the country.
