Guantanamo.- In the Caribe neighborhood of Guantánamo City, more than 80 senior citizens have access to the La Cienfueguera community restaurant, where these vulnerable people can have a daily meal.
Yaneisi Benavides Brooks, the restaurant’s cook, is very proud to serve this segment of the population every day.
Following the U.S. government’s denial of fuel to Cuba, the population is experiencing power outages, and this service is especially welcome for senior citizens.
La Cienfueguera doest not offer a wide selection of different dishes but it helps feeding those who are getting older and living through a complex world with the asphyxiating U.S. blockade.
