Guantanamo – Fans in Guantanamo are overjoyed after Giovis Salfrán Mejía, competing in the 51 kg division, defeated Azerbaijani Nijat Huseynov at the International Boxing Association World Championships in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
This Saturday, Salfrán, the Guantanamo native and runner-up at the 2023 World Cup in Germany, made his professional debut with a victory over Huseynov, a bronze medalist at the 2021 World Junior Championships.
