Guantanamo.- After a week of intense days of collaboration in the recovery efforts in the municipality of San Antonio del Sur, strongly affected by the passage of Hurricane Oscar, the Granma Province’s Artistic Brigade For Guantánamo my Heart said goodbye with a brotherly hug and infinite gratitude for their solidarity. The artists return to its native Cuban eastern province this weekend.
The farewell meeting took place at the Municipal Library and Bookstore of San Antonio del Sur, where the Guerrilla de Teatreros, the Andante Theater Group, the Provincial Council of Performing Arts of Granma and the singer Reynier Velázquez Álvarez, known as Lieutenant Rey, members of this brigade, received recognition of the Provincial Directorate of Culture from the hands of the director Yoelvys Labañino López.
The poem Hermandad, of the Guantanamo poet Regino Eladio Boti, in the voice and chords of the troubadour Josué Oliva and the words of the actor and Director of Guiñol Guantánamo, Emilio Vizcaíno Ávila, also distinguished this activity dedicated to the creators of Granma, for their commendable work and support in the recovery of homes of victims, as well as the institutions of the Culture sector. They also delivered donations and shared their art in the territories of San Antonio del Sur and Imías.
The Municipal Defense Council of San Antonio del Sur also recognized the work of the solidarity brigade Por Guantánamo mi Corazón during this meeting, in which residents of this settlement participated and learned about the humanistic footprint of the 24 Granma creators who make it up.
