Arlen Lopez Cardona is a young man from the south of Guantanamo, 31 years old, that in the Tokyo Multisport Games, Japan 2020 became Double Olympic Champion.
The ambidextrous pugilist from Guaso won first in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 2016 in the 75 kilograms division and then in Tokyo, Japan 2020 he did it in that same division and now in Paris he will try to do it in 82 kilograms.
If he wins the title, he would be the second boxer from Guantanamo to obtain it, since Felix Savon Fabre made history in the 91 kilograms, as well as Teófilo Stevenson Laurence from Tunisia in the 81 kilograms and the first one, the Hungarian Lazlo Papp.
Days before the multisport event, Arlen and the other four boxers are doing an excellent preparation in the French city of Nancy, from where he is already leaving for the venue of the Olympic Games and according to his trainer, also from Guantanamo, Victor Sanchez, he is in excellent sports and psychological shape on the road to success.
From Radio Guantanamo, on behalf of the fans, we wish Arlen Lopez Cardona the greatest success.
