Guantanamo,. Many people might think our title would be: From Behind the Cave Comes the Mom, but that’s not what it’s about. We’re talking about the future champions who are in every neighborhood of the provincial or municipal capital, or in the most remote corner of the Guantánamo mountains.
Following the tightening of the United States government’s blockade, which limits the entry of fuel into the country, the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) is forced to adjust its competition calendar at both the provincial and national levels.
This is how the activities of the Sports for All takes places in neighborhoods and communities, fulfilling the legacy of Fidel Castro, a champion of physical activity.

On weekends, the Sports Days take place, where baseball, five-a-side baseball, boxing, chess, judo, karate, taekwondo, weightlifting, volleyball, basketball, and other sports events call the attention of those who enjoy these activities as part of healthy recreation.
Everywhere there is a champion. Physical education and sports teachers with a vision for these events in Guantánamo’s neighborhoods are sure to discover talent that, with follow-up and support, can be nurtured into future champions.
