Guantanamo.- About 7 mothers in vulnerable situations benefit in the province from new homes, as part of the government program to address demographic dynamics, in favor of legal guardians with three or more children under 17 years of age.

The provincial director of housing in Guantanamo, Olaidis Méndez Planche, assures that, until the end of May, the Guantánamo and Imías municipalities stood out with deliveries, despite the current deficits of steel, cement, electrical modules and bathroom, lace, metal straps, carpentry, locks, as well as vinyl and enamel paints.

Even for the municipality El Salvador that has completed the houses for this program with diverse typologies in previous years, it has been practically difficult to complete them during the current semester.

Today the “Demographic Policy” in the province promotes birth rates and financial allocation to natural or legal persons for the construction of houses, as well as expansion of these premises, and is around 14 million 400 thousand pesos, of which only 3 million 95 thousand 400 have been executed.

In this sense, Dayamí Soria Latamblé, provincial deputy director of housing for the control of the housing fund, explains that the allocation is based on a previously approved budget for subsidies to natural persons with a lack of financial solvency for the acquisition of inputs. , which made it possible to obtain only 4 residences through the state, 2 through own efforts and one through a subsidy.

Unfortunately, for the coming months of 2024, the current conditions will persist which results in a shortage of slabs, construction wires, lights, switches, hardware and zinc tiles, in local warehouses specially arranged for it.
