Guantanamo.-The Guantanamo boxer Teudys Brook achieved the first victory to Cuba in the second day of the Edition 2025 of the Youth World Boxing Cup Adriatic Pearl, held in Budva, Montenegro.
The Cuban boxer defeated (3-2) the Russian Pavel Ermakov, although the performance of the Cuban in the middle and final rounds was not the same as that shown in the first.
His victory is a success and good news, especially on a day, when Bárbaro Quevedo (51 kg), Ronald Cutiño (57 kg) and Lester Bello (75 kg), lost in their first appearances.
Quevedo and Cutiño were defeated (0-5) by Kazakhs Dossymzhan Tangatar and Daniyar Akbissenov, respectively, and Bello suffered a left shoulder injury that determined the RSCI in round number three.
Brook will fight for bronze on Thursday against Russian Timofey Teniaev, who advanced with a good performance that justified the 5-0 of the judges, against Georgios Kostouros.
