Guantanamo boosts digitalization in health services

Guantanamo.- The digital transformation in health institutions has a positive impact on the quality and safety of services, an indicator that is implemented in polyclinics and hospitals in the Guantanamo Province.

At the end of the year, out of a total of 22 polyclinics, 20 have internet access for 91 percent, while medical records are now digitized at the Dr Agostinho Neto General Teaching Hospital and the Pedro Agustín Pérez Pediatric Hospital.

In addition to digitising their work processes and documentation, these centers also develop applications that contribute to optimizing work and expanding the computer education of workers in care, teaching and research processes.

The computerization process is expected to extend to other hospital centers such as the Octavo de la Concepción y La Pedraja Hospital in the municipality of Baracoa, in addition to the pharmacy network, which will favor services and reduce patient waiting time to receive specialized care.
