Guantanamo.- Maylin Escobar Ochoa, Director of the National Textile Clothing Company, Boga, sent a congratulatory message to the workers’ groups in the sector in the province of Guantánamo, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the creation of some of the eight factories that operates across the ten municipalities in the territory.

In the letter, delivered by Alberto Hernández Domínguez, general director of the local entity, AMBAR (the trade name), he highlighted the efficiency and fulfillment of plans, despite raw material shortages and the late arrival of fabrics.

Since November 2021, the textile workers in the province of Guantánamo have taken on the challenge of producing school uniforms with the new design established for all educational programs in the eastern provinces.

Schedule adjustments, the creation of work groups, and flexible production plans have become key method for responding to the demand for clothing in sectors such as education, health, and the military.

During the four decades of arduous work of the textile workers in Guantánamo, the contribution of mechanics has also been significant. Their innovations keep the machinery running, and they act immediately before any equipment breakdown to ensure the industrial process does not stop.

Ninety-five percent of the workers at Confecciones Textiles Ámbar in Guantánamo are women, who are committed to fulfilling established plans, despite the adverse economic limitations the country is experiencing.
