Performing education and promoting responsible sexuality and exclusive breastfeeding are some of the initiatives in Guantánamo to celebrate the World Health Day, on April 7.
The actions are part of the campaign under the slogan “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures,” which urges families and the general public to intensify their efforts to prevent teenage pregnancy and ensure the well-being of mothers and newborns.
Noralis Jouber Pineda, a specialist at the Provincial Center for Health Promotion and Education, stated that other goals of the event are to contribute, through families, to preventing non-communicable diseases, to combat tobacco and alcohol consumption, physical inactivity, and the consumption of unhealthy foods.
The World Health Day on April 7 is a space for growth and an opportunity to reflect on how much can be done to benefit the entire population and the right to health in Cuba for all people without distinction, guaranteeing services in communities and neighborhoods.
