From May 29th to June 1st , the Provincial Film Center in Guantanamo will host the 25th edition of the Fiesta para un principe enano (Party for a Dwarf Prince) Children’s Film Festival, dedicated on this occasion to World Children’s Day and the 65th founding anniversary of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC).
Premieres of children’s films, screenings of Cuban short and animated films and audiovisual productions of the Cámara Chica Project in community spaces make up the program of this Festival, which also includes contests, book expo sales, and shows by the Carpandilla Circus Variety Group and La Colmenita Guantanamo Children’s Theatrical Company.
Cuban films: Fernanda and the Strange Case of Controversy; Ciberdanz; and La Súper are among the premieres proposed at the Video Bar La Esquina del Cine Huambo, where there will also be the premiere in the territory of international films for children’s audiences such as:
Kung Fu Panda 4; The Crazy Bird Goes Camping; Asterix and Obelix and the Middle Kingdom; and Spiderman Across the Multiverse.
The opening show of the 25th edition of the Fiesta para un príncipe enano Children’s Film Festival will take place on May 29th at 2:00 pm at the Huambo Cultural Center in the Guaso city, with the presentation of the Carpandilla Circus Variety Group, the premiere of the film: Fantastic Animals. The Secrets of Dumbledore, and the premiere of animated shorts by Guantanamo filmmaker Dayner Roman.
As part of the closing event and in coincidence with the International Children’s Day on June 1st, the Children’s Film Festival Fiesta para un Principe Enano reserves a special screening of La Colmenita Guantanamo at the Plaza Polifuncional Pedro Agustin Perez starting at 6 pm, with screenings of Cuban animated shorts as well.
