Guantanamo – The Captain Asdrúbal López Coffee Processing Enterprise (AltoSerra), from Guantanamo, was awarded with the status of the 22nd Workers’ Congresss of the Cuban Workers’ Federation s of the Cuban Workers’ Federation (CTC), at the beginning of a program of activities prior to the celebration of the provincial Conference of the union organization during the next days 7 and 8 of November.

The largest Cuban exporter of the aromatic grain received the distinction from Juana Eglis Fernández Louit, general secretary of the CTC in the eastern territory, who highlighted the relevant union and productive merits of the labor group within the framework of local activities for the Day of the Agricultural and Forestry Worker.

Recognized by its commercial label Alto Serra and founded in 1987, the aforementioned entity employs more than 400 workers in seven units distributed in four municipalities of Guantanamo, and among its suppliers are all the coffee enterprises of the provinces of Guantanamo and Holguin, with plantations at about 500 and 700 meters above sea level, altitudes with a climate and soil favorable for this crop.

The industry of the Cuban Upper East regularly attends the Expo Caribe International Fair, in Santiago de Cuba, and concentrates its efforts on certification processes, training and functional adaptations to independently undertake its export responsibility.
