The Guantanamo delegation that will represent the more than one thousand seven hundred members of that community in the territory is ready to participate in the of the National Association of Deaf of Cuba (ANSOC) from March 18 to 20 at the Palace of the Conventions of Havana.
Yanicet Ramos Ramírez, president of the ANSOC in the province said that this meeting is another opportunity to enhance the use of Cuban sign language as an official language and source of access to information, knowledge and development for the deaf and hard of hearing.
Other issues are social work and accessibility, in addition to exalting the attention of this population segment by governments and the different organizations and institutions such as the educational sector, responsible for promoting participation and inclusion in defense of their rights and opportunities.
The Sixth National Assembly of the ANSOC will have nine Guantanamo delegates, who will ratify the commitment to combine wills and recognize the work of the interpreters and activists who play an important role through the media by enabling timely information to the entire Cuban deaf community.
