Researchers and specialists of the Environmental Subdelegation in Guantanamo, together with the institutions of the Hydraulic Resources delegation, are working on the control of the main contaminating sources that affect the basins of national and provincial interest in order to reduce this impact, in favor of the environment and human health.
In this sense, the Provincial Commission of Bay is working on a strategy to decontaminate the Guantanamo-Guaso basin, which is still being perfected as an essential step to protect this ecosystem of environmental relevance for the country.
Likewise, compliance with water protection actions is verified, as well as the operation of waste treatment systems to which maintenance and repair measures are applied in some companies in the industrial zone of the territory, in addition to investment proposals for this purpose in the companies.
The environmentalists also distinguish for their monitoring and advisory work to the entities in the effort to reduce the generation of polluting substances in the Caimanera Bay and the basins of the province, such as the Guantanamo Guaso, of national interest, actions to preserve the environment and life.
