Guantanamo.- Guantanamo environmentalists, together with the institutions of the Hydraulic Resources Delegation and other organizations, are betting on the control of the main sources of contamination that affect the basins of national and provincial interest, with the purpose of reducing the impact on human health and the environment.
The Provincial Commission of Bahia is working in this sense and has developed a strategy to decontaminate the Guantanamo-Guaso basin, which is still being perfected, as an essential step to protect this ecosystem of environmental relevance for the country.
Likewise, the fulfillment of the actions in terms of water protection is verified, the operation of the systems for the treatment of residuals to which maintenance and repair measures are applied in some companies in the industrial zone of the territory, in addition to the investment projects aimed at this purpose in the companies.
Researchers and specialists from the Environmental Subdelegation in Guantánamo also stand out for their work in monitoring and advising entities in favor of reducing the generation of polluting substances in Caimanera Bay and the province’s basins, actions aimed at preserving ecosystems and life in general.
