Guantanamo.- Without a doubt, the Guantanamo squad will be one of the main attraction of the 2025 National Women’s Boxing Championship, which begins today at the Rafael Fortún multipurpose hall in Camagüey.
“For this third national tournament, we spent six months preparing, with special attention to strength, speed, and endurance. Our goal is to do well and place among the top three, because there are also highly capable teams, and I don’t like to say we’ll be first. That’s decided in the ring,” said Eliorbis Abad, head coach of the eastern team.
In the last edition, the Guantánamo team finished tied with Havana on 18 points, but took the crown by winning two gold medals, each from Julianne Díaz (54 kg) and Yaquelín Estornell (66 kg), who will now be absent.
The Guantánamo Coach commented that he trusts in Julianne’s talent, who has trained very hard and can repeat her title, as well as in the strength of Arianne Imbert (66 kg) and super heavyweight Norcialis Joubert.
