Guantanamo.- Progress in the internal functioning of the National Association of Small Farmers, outstanding work during the organizational process of the 13th Congress, and meritorious results in productive political movements, among other factors, have made the farmers of the Guantánamo Municipality worthy of hosting the provincial activities for Cuban Farmers’ Day.

The event took place at the Enrique Campos Caballero Credit and Services Cooperative, located in the community of La Javilla, and was chaired by Magdalexi Fernández Rivera, a member of the Provincial Party Bureau, and Alvis López Ramírez, First Secretary of the Party in the municipality.

On the event, the farmers Abel de la Cruz, Alexy González Carás, Raidel Ramos Gamboa, Felix Jaca Valvier, Roberto Ramírez Pantoja, Manuel González Marrero, and Wilneidy Parrondo Gamboa were recognized as National Vanguards.

Also achieving the National Vanguard status were awarded for the credit and service cooperatives Enrique Campos Caballero, Luis Rustán, Sabino Pupo, Lino de las Mercedes Álvares, and the 17 de Mayo Agricultural Production Cooperative.

At the ceremony, Gisnelis Álvarez Mustelier, President of ANAP in the province, recognized the work of the organization’s more than 26,000 members who, despite the shortages caused by the United States blockade of Cuba and the global crisis, continue to give their all in the fields to produce food for the people.
