Guantanamo.- Facing the complex challenges due to the current energy situation in the country, the first secretary of the party in Guantánamo, Yoel Pérez García, announced through provincial media outlets a set of measures aimed at ensuring the stability and operation of essential services for the population.
The top priority is to protect the well-being of the people of Guantánamo, ensuring access to basic products and the continuity of education, while optimizing the use of available energy sources.
In the economic and services sector, the PCC leader also called to the continued sale of basic products to the population. It is a priority the electricity supply to the network of retail trade, pharmacies, and food processing centers, implementing rationalized schedules that allow them to operate with the lowest possible consumption. This measure seeks to avoid shortages and ensure that every family can purchase essential items.
The education sector is receiving special attention, and it has been decided to maintain teaching activities at all levels. Schools and universities will maintain their class schedules, prioritizing energy use during the daytime shifts.
At the same time, a rigorous energy-saving plan is being implemented in state agencies and budgeted units.
This strategy is comprehensive and requires, for its success, the understanding and active participation of all Guantanamo residents. Citizens and institutions are called upon to implement strict energy-saving measures in homes and workplaces, as well as to maintain discipline and unity in the face of difficulties. Transparency in information and confidence in the people’s resilience are fundamental pillars to overcome this period, stated Yoel Pérez García, First Secretary of the Party in Guantánamo.
