Guantánamo.- The Provincial Conference of the 22nd Congress of the Cuban Workers’ Federation  (CTC, in Spanish abbreviation), is taking place in Guantanamo Province from today until January 14, with the motivation of being the venue for national activities for the 86th anniversary of the labor movement’s organization, on January 28.

The sessions of the Conference begin this Monday at the CTC Convention Center, where the 150 delegates are representing more than 109 thousand members at the important meeting of the proletariat of the Cuban Upper East

Miroslaba Díaz Boloy, member of the Provincial Secretariat of the CTC, specified that on Monday morning there will be an exchange between the delegates and the main local authorities of the Communist Party of Cuba and the government, in which they offer an update on the political and socio-economic spheres of the territory.

The progress of the main economic processes, the situation of the sugar harvest, the process of banking, among others, are topics that they report to the delegates, who will be able to express their concerns and doubts about these matters, she detailed.

She also said that in the afternoon, the CTC’s report will be discussed, as well as the voting for the Provincial Committee and its first meeting to elect the new secretariat will be held and the day will end with a cultural gala.

The plenary session of the Provincial Conference will take place tomorrow, January 14, starting at eight in the morning, at the University of Medical Sciences, where the main report to the meeting will be discussed and approved. Also the elected secretariat will be introduced.

Issues such as the work of the labor movement, the fulfillment of the production of food, the sugar harvest will be evaluated and the commitment of the Guantanamo workers with their union quota and their contribution to the country will be reaffirmed.

The improvement of political-ideological work, the confrontation with crime, corruption and social indiscipline will also be discussed, and unity will be the guiding thread of the discussions, since without it, the goals cannot be achieved, said Díaz Boloy.

The CTC in Guantánamo, in addition to the celebrations for the 86th anniversary of the organization’s foundation, is involved in the process of meetings on the Economic Plan and the Budget for 2025 in each labor group, which will begin on January 15.
