Nine Guantanamo young artists will represent the Saíz Brothers Association (AHS), at the Romerías de Mayo Festival, which will take place from the 3rd to the 7th of May, in Holguín, as the main space to share and learn about the work of the new Cuban and foreign creators and researchers beyond local borders.
This year the Guantanamo delegation is present at The Congress of Thought Memoria Nuestra (Our Memory), in which important prizes have traditionally been obtained. This time Dairon Martínez Tejeda, vice president of the AHS, will present an investigation on radio and Mexican culture in Guantanamo, and together with the filmmaker Adriel Bosch Cascaret, director of the newspaper Venceremos, leads the Cine Andante community sociocultural project.
Both are also invited to the Cámara Azul audiovisual event, with the opportunity to show the experience of the Jornada de Cine Andante, through the screening of animation materials recorded during 10 years of that event in Guantanamo.
Dayamis Rodríguez la Cruz, president of the AHS in the province, is also invited to the meeting, with a proposal for a sociocultural project to extend the activities of the House of the Young Creator to the communities.
On the other hand, the troubadours Maykel Moral and Javier Zaldívar will represent our territory in the section dedicated to this musical expression. In fact, as a prelude to the Pilgrimages, they already promoted their works from Holguin radio stations.
In addition, DJ Jeffrey Lewis Ortiz and Kamila Corona (Carmen Crown) will participate in the ElectroRomerías event.
This year the literary event Palabras compartidas (Shared Words) is dedicated to the Calendar Awards and the publishers of the AHS, hence the effort of the AHS to make visible the writer Arletty Romero Lafarguez, an associate who has collaborated in collection of poems, magazines and currently serves as head of writers section.
As for Performing Arts, in the interest of the organization and the Provincial Council of that event, the actor Fermín Francel, winner of the 2022 Adolfo Llauradó Theater Award, will participate in the event with the play “Pan para la fe” (Bread for Faith).
Las Romerías de Mayo is the most expected event for young artists, in which exponents from all over the Island come together, an ideal space to get feedback, meet artists with new aesthetics and also to promote their own professional growth.][/bg_collapse]
