Guantánamo.- Guantanamo residents are alert due to the intermittent rainfall in all municipalities of this province, associated with the tropical wave that affects the entire eastern region. The hydrology monitoring and control system remains active.

The greatest runoff is concentrated in the Faustino Pérez Reservoir, the main source of water supply for the city of Guantánamo, which accumulated 664,000 cubic meters, in 24 hours reached 59 % of its capacity, with an increase of 2.5%.

In the case of the La Yaya Dam, which has been exploiting its dead volume and has had delivery restrictions since April, the increase has been almost imperceptible and is at 7.3 % of its capacity.

The Clotilde Reservoir has increased by 79,000 cubic meters as a result of the compensation it receives from the Faustino Pérez Dam and is at 8 %.

In the Caujerí Valley, in the municipality of San Antonio del Sur, the Los Asientos Dam is at 61% of its capacity, and Pozo Azul, at 43%, for an average for the area of ​​53 %.

The reservoir volume in the province is at 23.7 % of their capacities, and the rain gauge network of the water resources system recorded significant rainfall exceeding 50 millimeters in several municipalities.
