Guantanamo.- Hundreds of Guantanamo residents, representing the people of the province, held a heartfelt and patriotic remembrance of their martyrs with a pilgrimage and political-cultural event at the monument erected to the members of the 26th of July Movement, who died on August 4, 1957, as a result of the accidental explosion of a bomb factory.
Enrique Rodríguez, Fabio Rosell, Abelardo Cuza, Jesús Martín, and Gustavo Fraga are remembered with deep respect and admiration today.
As part of the 49th edition of the Political Song Festival, which concludes today, a tribute concert was held at the foot of the Obelisk to commemorate these historic events in the province. This became a space for young and renowned troubadours to meet with their committed verse and songs.
