Alis Azahares Torreblanca, Governor of Guantanamo, will account on her management before the Provincial Council on November 28, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic and Law 138 of Organization and Operation of the Provincial Government in its article 117.1.
Accordingly, accountability will be inherent to topics such as the functioning of the provincial Government, the implementation of the Development Strategy, the territory´s economic recovery, the effectiveness of the Internal Control System, as well as the result of the policies and social programs and attention to the population’s concerns and complaints.
Three presidents of municipal Assemblies, the same number of vice presidents and five vice mayors make up the temporary commission for the study and opinion of the report presented by the Governor, who will report on the fulfillment of the mandate given by the Constitution and the laws.
Alis Azahares Torreblanca, as notified by Law 138, is the highest executive-administrative person in the province and her functions endorse the public servant nature of her position and performance, for which it will be useful for citizens to express their opinions, ideas, criticisms and suggestions to the work of government and in particular its management.
The Governor´s accountability is carried out at least once a year, and the decisions adopted to complete or resolve the aspects indicated are binding.
