The support of Guantanamo journalists and radio workers for the cause of the people of Palestine, subjected to the escalation of violence by Israel, was evident this Tuesday in a solidarity event held at the Theater of the CMKS Radio Station.

Attendees raised their voices in condemnation of the genocide against the Gaza Strip, advocated for peace in the Middle East, while demanding a ceasefire that has so far caused the death of more than 5,000 people and nearly 20,000 injuries and they asked for a free pass for the entry of humanitarian aid sent by Venezuela, Russia and other countries.

The participants at the event support the international demand not to use nuclear weapons, while they recalled that Cuba, along with the rest of the countries in Latin America, today has become a zone of peace.

Ana Teresa Nápoles Disotuar, delegate of the Delegate of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) in Guantanamo, pointed out that peace is the only possible way to resolve the old conflict and supported the position of the Cuban Government of demanding an immediate ceasefire and ask for respect for the free self-determination of the people in the areas seized by the Zionist aggressors.

The solidarity event was attended by Marielis Fuentes Oquendo, Head of the Ideological Department of the Provincial Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, and Taimí Fernández Pérez, president of the Cuban Journalists Association at the same level, along with officials from the Provincial Committee of the Party, the ICAP and the unionists of the Culture.
