Guantanamo.- A donation of one hundred tons of sausage meat sent by the Rimich Joint Venture, with Mexican capital, arrived in Guantanamo, for the families affected by the devastating passage of Hurricane Oscar.
Yoalis Ramírez Santos, coordinator in the territory of the Ministry of the Food Industry, indicated that as soon as the work of unloading the merchandise is completed, the distribution will begin for San Antonio del Sur, Imìas, Maisí and Baracoa, severely damaged municipalities.
She meant that all consumers in the province will receive the established quota of the meat product, with priority for pregnant women, children under zero to six years old and adults under sixty-five years.
This support is provided in collaboration with the Richmeat Company, which has a space in the Mariel Development Zone, and the donation consists of 250 thousand packages of sausage meat, in quantities of 400 grams each one, which together allow for the preparation of some 750 thousand meals.
The load was transported to Guantánamo from the Mariel Special Development Zone, using refrigerated trucks with a crew of ten Cuban drivers, who fully identify with the humanistic and supportive feelings that characterize our country.
