The Faustino Pérez dam, which supplies 72% of the inhabitants in Guantanamo city in this eastern Cuban province, is full so it can serve the maximum amount of 1,200 liters per second and thus keep stable supply cycles.
La Yaya, with over 63 million cubic meters of water available – of the 160 million it admits – guarantees water to the population of the southern area of this city, in addition to surrounding communities and contracted agricultural irrigation.
