Guantanamo.- The young singer-songwriter Annalie López, known as “Azucena Guantanamera,” will share her art during the months of July and August in the Latin American nations of Argentina and Paraguay, alongside a group of South American troubadours, as part of the Cancioneras Tour, promoted by the Ibermúsicas program, according to the digital platform Pista Cubana.
The young Guantanamo artist, who is a member of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS), represents Cuba on this artistic tour, which already includes several concerts in Argentine venues such as the Casa de la Cultura Clúster Creativo, the La Cortada Cultural Territory, and the Casa Museo de la Trova, according to the tour’s itinerary.
She will be accompanied by singer-songwriters Milene Morales, Paula Ferré, Lola Barrios, Rocío Robledo, Lizza Bogado, and Julia Peroni.
Similarly, the CubaMinrex website reports that, in coordination with Cancioneras Paraguayas and the Cuban Embassy, Annalie López performed in a show by the popular La Tocatta Group in the Plaza de los Desaparecidos downtown Asunción.
During that concert, she performed the song “La Negrita del Barrio,” a rumba that was very well received by those attending the event, hosted by singer-songwriter María Ríos.
Annalié López, winner of the AHS Kingdom of this World Creation Scholarship and the Best Contemporary Song Award from the Cuerda Viva Festival in 2021 and 2022, announced to Radio Guantánamo via WhatsApp that as part of the Cancioneras Tour she is performing a repertoire made up of her own compositions, including Azucenas, Victoria, Adiós soledad, and Sin clave no hay rumba, but that she also dedicates a moment of reverence to traditional Cuban troubadour songs in her performances.
