With the artistic gala Vitrales (Stained Glass), the Guantanamo Provincial Museum’s staff celebrated the 40th anniversary of the founding of this cultural institution of the territory, a space, in which they also dedicated a moment to recognize founders, workers with more than 25 years of work, and the PhD. Ana Valdés Millán, was honored this year as best museologist in the country.
Also during the commemorative event, the Provincial Directorate of Culture, the Cultural Heritage Center, the Workers’ Union of culture, and the Council of the Performing Arts at the same level in the territory joined the celebration by presenting recognitions to this institution for its four decades of foundation, received by the director Norbelis Creagh Creagh.
Likewise, the celebration became a time to recognize the work of the historians José Sánchez Guerra, Ladislao Guerra Valiente, Diego Bosch Ferrer, the musical researcher José Cuenca Sosa and the troubadour Josué Oliva, for their link and contribution to the Guantanamo Provincial Museum.
The members of Danza Libre and Ballet Folklorico Babul companies, together with the pianist René Méndez, the troubadour Josué Oliva, the announcer Ray Arjona and the oral narrator Ury Rodríguez starred in the Vitrales commemorative gala, under the direction of Lázaro Mcpherson Williams, took place in the courtyard of the Guantánamo Provincial Museum, with the presence of its specialists and workers in general.
