Alis Azahares Torreblanca, Guantanamo Governor , called to keep a close watch on the evolution and future trajectory of hurricane Beryl, due to its proximity to this geographical area.
She emphasized this during the meeting that the territory main authorities carry out daily with representatives of administrative entities, in which she also insisted on paying special attention to the possible deterioration of the weather and to the Civil Defense guidelines.
In addition, she pointed out, it is necessary to quickly adopt preventive measures in homes, neighborhoods and workplaces so as not to regret any loss of human lives or material resources of the economy.
In the usual meeting to assess the performance of goods and services for the inhabitants, it was also indicated to intensify actions in favor of improving the epidemiological panorama with the proliferation of arbovirosis facing the province and the rest of the country.
Also on the agenda of the meeting were the difficulties with the water supply in several communities, especially in Maisi and Manuel Tames municipalities, the lack of wood for the manufacture of sarcophagi, the delay in the workers salary of the educational sector of Baracoa municipality, among other issues.
Concerning to the delivery of the standard family food basket, the suppliers assured the completion of the seven pounds of rice per person for the month of June and the delivery of the cereal for this month, as well as two pounds of sugar, coffee, grains, oil and eggs.
