Guantánamo.- The recent meeting focused on the economic and social vitality of Guantánamo Province, led by the region’s top political and governmental authorities, addressed several critical issues, including road assessments, reservoir maintenance, and the current epidemiological panorama.

Yoel Pérez García, the first secretary of the provincial Party, urged the provincial transportation leadership to implement strategies that ensure safe vehicle circulation to the Baracoa municipality, as frequent rockslides on this route pose significant risks to safety.

He also highlighted another danger on major highways due to insufficient action from work brigades to trim overgrown branches obscuring traffic signs, emphasizing the need for prompt results in this area.

Additionally, Governor Alis Azhares Torreblanca reviewed the epidemiological situation and the health sector’s efforts to mitigate arbovirus outbreaks in the municipalities of Manuel Tames, Imias, San Antonio del Sur, Yateras, and Niceto Pérez.

The meeting also assessed the water supply cycles for the population, revealing that one of the most significant issues continues to affect the Yaya community within the Niceto Pérez municipality.
