Guantanamo.- The First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party in Guantánamo Yoel Pérez García together with the Governor, Alis Azahares Torreblanca exchanged with academics and researchers on research projects and local development strategies in a meeting sponsored by the Territorial Delegation of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment.

Professionals from the Education, Sports, Information Technology, and Public Health sectors presented projects related to agriculture, artificial intelligence, transformation of communities in vulnerable situations, food production of animal origin, renewable sources of energy, among others.

At the meeting, the top political leader called for greater cooperation between organizations and universities to achieve better results in the province’s development strategy and also insisted on the need to develop more projects linked to environmental risks and the effects of climate change in order to protect natural resources.

During the exchange with the Guantanamo scientific community, the strategy for the use of artificial intelligence in areas such as health and sports was outlined and a call was made to develop science, technology and innovation in order to achieve a greater impact at the local level.
