In the context of the commemorative activities for May Day, the group from Guantanamo UEB Alastor Division received for the fourth time the status of National Vanguard, a high category of Socialist Emulation granted by the Cuban Workers’ Union.

Gisela Ávila, general secretary of the Industrial Workers Union in the province, highlighted the extraordinary results in the ALASTOR’s performance, and among them she mentioned the recovery of equipment that replaces imports, and keeping the technological systems of steam boilers, laundries, kitchens, cameras active of food refrigeration, especially in hospitals, daycare centers, nursing homes and centers essential in the provision of services to the population.

In the almost 60 men and women who make up the ALASTOR Guantánamo workforce, their efficiency in the maintenance of air-conditioned equipment and hot water systems in state facilities and other new-type management firms such as MSMEs, non-agricultural cooperatives and self-employed.

Juana Eglis Fernández Lowit, General Secretary of the CTC in the Guantánamo Province, after reiterating the message of congratulations to ALASTOR, she called them to join the hundreds of Guantanamo workers who, together with their families, will march this Wednesday through the streets and squares of the territory in support to a social project, to our leaders Fidel, Raúl and Díaz-Canel, and in repudiation of the intensified economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government.

Due to the relevant productive and union achievement, the UEB Muebles Imperio, the Subsidiary Company Cervecería Guantánamo and the Development Center of the Mountain, were also awarded by the Central Workers of Cuba.
