Guantanamo.- The Con Luz Propia (With Our Own Light) youth expedition, comprised of young people from the Ministry of Energy and Mines, held an exchange at the Elmo Catalán Avilés Elementary School in the San Justo community of Guantánamo City to share details of the energy transition in Cuba.
The dialogue included the participation of the 14 young members of the expedition, delegates, and community members, where experiences were shared regarding renewable energy sources, the rational use of natural resources, and the actions being carried out throughout the country.
Leonardo Fernández Chibás, a mechanical engineer leading the youth expedition, explained that the energy transition strategy for electricity generation using renewable energy sources is being implemented in business groups as well as throughout society.

Regarding the actions being undertaken in the country, he specified that the distribution of photovoltaic systems to the homes of healthcare workers, Heroes of Labor, Education workers, and employees of the Ministry of Higher Education continues, with more than 800 systems already installed in the province.
