Guantanamo.- The Provincial Center for Cultural Heritage will host a new series of events from April 27 to May 3 in Guantánamo Province, featuring a program that integrates history, research, and community engagement, with a focus on preserving memory and cultural identity.

The Guantánamo Provincial Museum will maintain a continuous social media presence with articles commemorating significant dates: April 28 marks the promotion of José Maceo to Major General at Vuelta Corta; April 29 honors the anniversary of the José Martí Cultural Society; and May 1 commemorates International Workers’ Day.

The House Museum dedicated to Major General Pedro Agustín Pérez will conduct heritage management activities in educational and community spaces. On April 27, at Luis Rustán School, a discussion on the Arroyo Hondo battle—where Colonel Arcid Duvergel fell—will engage younger generations.

On April 29, the “From Tiguabo to La Confianza” event will close at the Border Brigade, celebrating the 182nd birthday of Pedro Agustín Pérez with historical document presentations and public dialogue.

This program underscores the province’s museums and heritage system as vital links between past and present, fostering a living culture that actively engages with its community.
