Guantanamo – As an example of the high priority that the country gives to the protection of people after the passage of Hurricane Oscar, Agreement 9991/2024 of the Council of Ministers is being implemented in Guantanamo, which provides that the State Budget will finance 50 percent (%) of the sale prices of construction materials to people whose homes are totally or partially damaged due to the impact of Hurricane Oscar in Guantanamo.

It also provides that people whose economic resources are insufficient for the purchase of the materials, they may obtain bank loans, claiming subsidies for the purchase of construction materials from the State Budget or applying financing from Social Assistance, in accordance with the provisions of current legislation.

The agreement authorizes the Minister of Finance and Prices to grant price supports, bonuses and deductions of services and durable products sold to the affected people, according to the report of Yordenia Rodríguez Mengana, a specialist from the National Tax Administration Office in the eastern province.
