The Guaso Theater in the city of Guantanamo hosted the provincial event for the 63rd anniversary of the creation of the National Sports Institute (INDER), an organization that organizes and promotes all sports activities in the country.

With the presence of Yoel Pérez García, first Secretary of the Communist Part in the territory and Governor Alis Torreblanca Azaharez, the day became a moment of recognition and tribute to the members of the sector.

Sports and art performances enlivened the gala that included representatives of Houses for the Elderly and children from special schools.

The celebration for INDER’s anniversary birthday is also multiplying in the Guantanamo municipalities.

Guantanamo, land of champions and ex athletes, has already secured the canoeist Yarisleidis Cirilo Duboy, C-2 world champion at 200 meters, for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, while the boxer Arlen López Cardona will go for his third title under the five rings.

The First Secretary of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, sent recognition to those who began the path of the institution… «On the 63rd anniversary of the founding of the Institution, our recognition goes to the founders and all those who have built and sustained throughout these years the extraordinary prestige of sports in Cuba.

The challenge is to recover, strengthen and magnify that history,” the president wrote.
