Guantanamo.- The CMDX Radio Station, La Voz el Toa, from Baracoa, the first city of Cuba, won the Grand Prize at the 35th National Festival of Cuban Radio, which this year was held in the Artemisa Province.

Among the more than 600 works presented, the jury awarded the highest recognition in the category of special themes to the program Con la Primera en el Tiempo… La balsa de madera. Entre el agua y la tradición, by Marta Luz Urgellés Martínez, a radio broadcast that also won the award in the category of the best treatment on a local theme.

Likewise, La Voz del Toa Radio Station won also the first place in the category of science technology and/or environmental programme with Manglares. Protección y Preservación en Baracoa, by Ericela Azaharez Lobaina.

Yusneikis Urgellés Martínez won the first place in the category of Sound Production (Recording, Editing or Broadcast) with Con la Primera en el Tiempo.

The people of Baracoa will receive their awards from the Program Competition of the XXXV National Radio Festival between October 16 and 21, the date approved by the General Directorate of Cuban Radio and the Programming Directorate for the meeting between the producers of all the radio stations in the country, which will be held in the Artemisa Province.
