Guantanamo.- The Guantanamo municipality of Niceto Pérez will host the provincial event for the 65th anniversary of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC, in Spanish abbreviation), in recognition of the comprehensive results the organization has achieved concerning the active incorporation of women into social work, their leading role in community work, and the strengthening of the work of blocs and delegations.
Edesnay Jaca Balbier, general secretary of the FMC in Niceto Perez, stated in her statements that the provincial celebration for August 23rd is scheduled for next Thursday, the 21st, in La Yaya, the territory’s main People’s Council.
The celebration will include the recognition to organization’s founders, grassroots leaders, and women who excel in sectors such as food production, public health, education, coffee, sports, and culture.
She also noted that the FMC’s birthday celebration will be an opportune moment to encourage voluntary blood donors, workers associated with the Casitas Infantiles (Children’s Homes), and young women reaching the age of 14, who play a leading role in achieving the organization’s measurable indicators, including contributions, my contribution to the country, and the close FMC-Community ties.
Dedicated to Fidel on his 99th birth anniversary and to Vilma Espin, the eternal President of the FMC, the Provincial Act for the 65th anniversary of the women’s organization will transcend in the municipality of Niceto Perez, a territory that stands out at the national level.
