Guantanamo.- With the start of laboratory-scale production of the biostimulant Lebame, the workers of the Sugar Cane By-products Base Business Unit (UEB) offer an important contribution to the economic recovery of the Argeo Martínez Agroindustrial Sugar Company.
With this action, Guantánamo joins the provinces that introduce this product in Cuba that will help make up for the current deficit of fertilizers necessary in sugarcane plantations, although its use can be extended to other crops and also as animal feed.
Andrisley Hodelín Planche, engineer at the aforementioned UEB, explained that once the rigorous analyzes have been carried out, they will begin production on an industrial scale, at which point they will provide 3,600 liters each work day for the benefit of the sugarcane producing units.
Lebame is a biostimulant that is obtained through a fermentation process using efficient microorganisms.
Its generalization will contribute to improving agricultural yields and substituting imports.
