The second-day-working agenda in Guantanamo of the Prime Minister of Cuba, Manuel Marrero Cruz, began in the municipality Caimanera, as part of the fourth government visit to the easternmost end of the country.

On the previous day, after touring the municipalities of Baracoa and Maisí, the member of the Political Bureau also visited the La Bonita farm, a local project for the production of meat, with poultry farming and raising livestock.

In the municipality Guantanamo, the Prime Minister also reached out to a small plant of local construction materials in the rural community of Cecilia.

At night, together with the main political and governmental authorities of Guantanamo, he participated in the ceremony of delivery and reception of the positions of Governor and Lieutenant Governor, at which time he recognized the work of Emilio Matos Mosqueda, outgoing Governor, and called work for the economic and social development of the province, always addressing the complaints and concerns of the population.

Second day of the Prime Minister in Guantanamo

This Thursday the Prime Minister came to the community Cayamo, in Caimanera municipality to verify the local production of bricks in one of the 24 brick and tile factories that produce this material as part of the housing construction program.

In an exchange with residents of the community, Marrero Cruz learned about the main problems that most affect the population, such as the supply of drinking water, housing, and the stability of agricultural products.

In the dialogue, he called to “take advantage of all possible initiatives to solve problems that affect the residents of Cayamo, including the construction of children’s houses to care for the working mothers’ kids and care for the elderly and people in vulnerable conditions.”

In Caimanera, the Prime Minister toured the Frank País García salt enterprise, an industry that pays salt taxes to 3 out of 5 Cubans, and whose production plans are affected by the transportation deficit.

Marrero Cruz  checks in the territory the measures to implement the territorial development strategy  and  plans to visit also local hotels.
