Guantánamo.- One hundred and seventy-three years have passed since the birth of the genius from Paula, and his legacy serves as a guide for those who believe in the power of virtue.
This was evident in the massive participation of university and high school students, who, accompanied by the main authorities of the territory and the people of Guantánamo, revived the traditional torchlight procession in celebration of the anniversary of the most universal of Cubans.
The torches, this time centennial and anti-imperialist, marked the pulse of the youth of eastern Cuba, worthy heirs to that first manifestation of Martí pride led by the Centennial Generation of the Apostle in 1953, when recovering his ideals was essential.
The members of the Federation of University and Secondary School Students reaffirmed their decision to put Cuba first, and with fire, the kind that melts to forge, they made clear their rejection of the North American policy of aggression against the Homeland of Martí.
