Guantanamo.-With the purpose of creating better working and living conditions for Family Doctors and Nurses offices, a repair and maintenance plan for offices is advancing in the Maisí Municipality, in Guantanamo, the venue of the central event for July 26 in the Cuban easternmost province, actions that are part of the tasks carried out by the public health sector to mark the anniversary.
Dr. Yoendris Morgado Matos, Municipal Health Director, explained to Radio Guantanamo that the constructions are aimed at recovering the foundational elements of this innovative program that this year celebrates its 40th anniversary.
Despite the limitations and lack of resources, the strategy brings together workers from the same sphere, self-employed workers, while the productive base units and entities also support the task that contribute to the improvement of the doctors’ offices located in hard-to-reach areas.
Likewise, the repairs include the housing of the health personnel for having greater comfort, as well as the possibility of recovering and changing furniture of the living room, dining room, bed rooms and others, which makes the stay of the personnel more pleasant and satisfactory.
The transformations that are carried out in Maisi Municipality on occasion of the July 26th not only benefit the Family Doctor and Nurse Program but also guarantee the quality of teaching and research, as well as the quality of medical care, for which all offices are guaranteed coverage with qualified staff.
