Guantanamo.- The photo exhibition called Memorias de CMKS (Memories of CMKS) that shows the work, dedication, and commitment of generations of radio broadcasters in Guantánamo is an initiative admired by the staff which has kept the CMKS Provincial Radio Station on air since its founding in June 1937.

This digital gallery, created by the innovative multimedia production unit MEGAHERZ, revives unforgettable moments, beloved faces, and the tireless work of electricians, sound technicians, journalists, announcers, and other workers who make the 24-hour broadcast of the radio signal possible, either live or through various digital platforms.

During the celebration of CMKS’s 88th anniversary, the photo gallery will be visible on all Radio Guantánamo social media channels. Yisell Román Arcia, the journalist in charge of the photography exhibition, explains that it is a tribute to the voices that are beloved overtime.

The photo collection containing the early days of CMKS Provincial Radio Station, on June 27, 1937, created by engineer Cándido Savón Suárez, is like a showcase of unforgettable names and the history of colleagues who authenticated Guantanamo’s favorite radio station as a meeting place that became the voice of culture, sports, politics, music, and also the voice of the people.
