Guantanamo.- The Olympic tatamis are missing the performance of the Guantanamo native judoka Driulis González Morales. Cuba and her hometown Guantánamo remember the story written by this high class woman: the best judoka in the world in the last century.

Driulis is still in our hearts; I also remember all the times I shouted out for her victories at the Olympiads, World championship, Pan American and Central American games.

On Luz Caballero Street between 7 and 8 Norte, in her Guantánamo hometown, she was accompanied by her family and neighbors at every sporting event.

I still see her on the television in her projections, the ippons… giving no rest to her adversary, she had to be counted on until the end. Thus, we saw Driulis González Morales winning the gold medal in the 56 kg division at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, United States. (Taken from Gerardo César Terrado’s FB profile)
