Guantanamo.- The installation of a pressurized system in the boiler area is the most important investment made at the Argeo Martínez power plant as part of the actions carried out during the repair period to achieve greater efficiency in the production process in this 2024-2025 sugarcane harvest.
With the support of almost six million pesos, this investment made by the workers of this industry and the collaboration of three technical services brigades of the AZCUBA group from the Santiago de Cuba Province aims to achieve a more stable steam flow in the energy block by increasing the quality and quantity of water used in this area.
This work aims not only to achieve self-sufficiency in electric power for the easternmost sugar factory in Cuba, but also to sell the surplus of this carrier to the national grid, which will have a favorable impact on the economy of the Guantanamo municipality of Manuel Tames as well as on that of the workers of this sugar mill.
As part of the multiple actions developed in the Argeo Martínez sugar mill to achieve better efficiency indicators in this new period, overhaul repairs were also carried out to achieve better preparation of the sugar cane in the area of the tilting machine, which will contribute to minimizing several of the causes of lost time in previous harvests.
